Can you fellow AR guys give me a rough value of a 1978 Colt SP1 carbine in 95% to like new condition? Excuse the pictures, they are all I have. :o TIA

No forward assist cuts on the bolt carrier? That's odd. Otherwise. I see them turn up around US$1400-1800. Mostly 14-15. Assuming there's no feeding frenzy.
I thought the very early ones didn't have them? That one IS early...
The early bolts did not have the cuts. Thanks for the value. I've seen these going for upwards of $1900.00. I think I did okay for less than $1400.00 then.
Yes you did. It has some of the earliest parts...the metal butt, the parkerized steel lock washer on the lower receiver extension and the already established un-serrated bolt carrier...
That is much earlier SP1 then 1978 as the guys were saying.
Bill, your rifle appears to be 1978 vintage. The earlier Colts were marked "Colt's Patent Firearms". Later SP1's were marked "Colt's Firearms Division" such as yours. Mine is an early 1968 vintage rifle; sn#11813.
Thank you Bob. Yes, the serial number and markings all point to 1978. I'm as please as can be on this and can't wait for it to show up.
Photos show the bolt and carrier from a three digit SP1 (chromed bolt)
and a bolt and carrier from a SP1 in the 52xxx serial number range. I
seem to remember that the Colt carriers had the C stamp ?Attachment 45252
What about the chrome carriers? Where do they come into this?
