Lee Enfield History help
I'm confused as to what the history of my new Enfield is and I was curious if anyone could help me decipher/determine, venture an opinion on where this rifle has been.
Marked Long Branch on the receiver, 1944. Right side of the barrell appears to be marked with a "44". On the left side appears to say "England" then 78L4172 and then the number "52". Also has a front sight that is marked on the left side "Parker Hale England". To me and I am new to Enfields, this is very confusing. Price on the rifle was too good to pass on, just curious of the history or if anyone can venture a guess about it.
