FedEx Idiocy
I got a call from a dealer in Alberta Canada today. He runs "Things Military" and deals in antique and collectible military items. I bought a M1889 Belgian cruciform bayonet from him last week. He decided that it was only a few bucks more for air shipping therefore decided to get it to me more quickly. It went through Canadian mail fine but I guess it automatically goes from there to FedEx when it is in the US. FedEx ex-rayed the package and refused to ship the "dangerous weapon"! He called me to let me know of the delay. I of course, attempted to lodge a complaint with FedEx only to find that their "support" form screens anything which they don't want to talk about. I wanted to point out to them that I was certain that they would ship chefs butcher knives, barbecue forks, and other "dangerous weapons".
In any case, I will no longer use FedEx for anything and I urge others to think strongly about it also. They are certainly free to run their business as they please, but they should be called out for their wrong-headed policies. We in the "dangerous weapons" field should know who our enemies are and treat them accordingly. These "lefties" are all about subversion as a way to get what they perceive is good and I sincerely hope it puts them out of business. I, for one will welcome their demise as a step in the right direction.
