Swedish M/63

M/63

I have been thinking about getting a Swedish M/63 in 6.5 X 55.
Amy advice?

I think is should really be a CG63.
The seller a very large arms dealer on the French German border has a large ish number and is listing as M63s
its pic looks just like all the CG63 pics on the net.

I know nothing really about them, would want to shoot it out to 200m but will be wanting to fit a scope as I cannot see through the diopter sights with my eye site problem.

It well falls into the rifles I collect being a Mauser, and I like its form.

Reloading the 6.6 X 55 any advice?

Yes, the normal designation is CG63. The CG63 is a commercial target rifle. It is not a service rifle, so calling it an M63 or M/63 is misleading.
The military did approve versions in 6.5 and 7.62 as m/6 and m/7, but I have never seen one for sale over here. If you find one, about the only difference you can see in a photo is that the m/6 and m/7 carried a short cleaning rod - See "Crown Jewels" pp.183-188.

With the new firearms classifications in France 6.5 X 55 is now a civilian round and can be bought with only a declaration and no authorization.

303 and 8 X 57 etc are also civilian rounds along with many others,
only about 4/5 rounds are classed as military needing permission to own 5.56, 223, 12.7, 50 Cal, and Russian rounds, so the arms fall into the civilian or millinery classes.
It just became a whole lot easier to own mill surplus in France this month.
