T26 Reproduction
It's my first Garand. I know it's not a "real" Garand, so don't jump on me. I know it's not for tankers, but I thought it was odd and cool. It came with the original barrel and piston so I could theoretically change it back. I can't wait to give it a try. It think it will have one hell of a kick. It's a hair shorter than an SKS and that is including the flash hider.

Pretty interesting. FWIW, the original T26 has a M1903 barrel band clamping all the wood together.

The guy texted me back today. He has the rest of the original stock as well and will let me have it also. So I have this model and all the original parts. I am thinking that I have to shoot it and that will decide forever if it says this way or if I try to turn it back.

It's not that it'll kick so hard but it'll have a pronounced flash. It will be fun, provided it works like it should. Worst case, you turn it back to full length.

Well, gave her a run through 100 rounds on Friday. Worked just like it was supposed to. Has very little recoil. I was surprised. It wasn't quite as aloud as I thought it would be either. Overall pleasantly surprised. Next time I'll put up some targets and take some pics of the groups.

Nice serial number. I also have had a few in 308 and 3006 and never seen any difference nor any bigger flash. I hear people say it all the time but have never seen it through my personal experience. I have a Ruger Black hawk in 30 carbine and was told it is a monster and will flash huge and kick hard. I think the thing is a sissy pistol and nothing special to the kick or flash either :( I was hoping for a Testosterone pistol but no luck just spread rumors. Rick B

I guess it's just the powder you use if reloading. I know I've seen some that had a flash like a basketball. The M1 that is, not the Blackhawk...the reports on the actual tankers also spoke of the excess flash.
