Info and Help to identify what I believe is an Enfield

I am new to forum and novice gun owner. I just received this rifle from an estate and would like to get as much info as possible.

Front sight has Parker Hale & England under that
1/2 way from front sight to receiver has J stamped there, top of barrel.
Just before the reciver has what may be A or 4 and what may be RZF.
Has what may be DNP with small emblem over that.
303 2.222
8.5 tons per square (symbol) inch (symbol)

There are two stamped emblems under this that I can't make out and beside those are '42.

Only mark I can see on stock is C right next to receiver.

Rear sight has 300 on back side.
Butt stock ring has England an what may be ROF 42A serial # L212xx. Bolt has same number as serial number. Receiver has No4MK.1. Nothing on butt plate, but has door for cleaning rod.

Only noticeable defect is sling is missing, and forwad screw for sling is missing.

Can anyone give me info on this and an approximate price range value.

It's obviously a Lee Enfield No4 Mk1. By your reference to the "Parker Hale" marking on the front sight it sounds like it has been sporterized. Does the wood go to within an inch or so of the end of the barrel?

If it's been sportered and you're in Canada, price could range between $50-200 depending on condition and the quality of the sporterization.

No there is 10 1/2 inches of barrel from end of forestock.

Hi Louis, if you can, post a few pics, that'd help, but as Stevo said you have a sporteized Lee Enfield. If it's a "commercial" sporterized rifle (vould be the case with the Parker Hale front sight), it's a bit more interesting (so value would be in the high range mentioned by Stevo).

These markings mean it was 'sold out of service' into the civilian market in England. These are UK proof markings
BNP = Birmingham Nitro Proof ( with crown above it)
303 = calibe 0.303"
2.222 = cartridge length 2.222"
8.5 (should be 18.5) tons per square inch is the proof test pressure.
