Krag 1901 rear sight help

I have purchased a new carbine rear sight ladder for my cut down Krag rifle.

I am stuck on how to remove the slider from the exiting sight and place in on the new ladder.:surrender:

Any assistance would be most appreciated.

I believe that this is the Krag 1901 sight.

I have no problem drifting the ladder off the base, but I am stuck getting the slider off of the ladder.

The sight disassembles like a 1903 Springfield. You must drift out the small pin in the slide and remove the screw on the opposite side of the slide and the slide will come apart. Observe your work carefully so you can reassemble.
