american built 1891 values

Local shop that deals almost exclusively in surplus arms, just got 3 1891s in, 2 are american built but ive never seen any for sale to know a good price.

1-1917 remington, all numbers matching, stock is in good shape, no import marks, bores not perfect but still very shootable, asking 375.

2nd- 1915 westinghouse, non matching, stocks seen some wear but still solid, nice bore, no import marks, low 60's 5 digit serial. asking $350.

anyone have ideas on value, im thinking more about buying them and stashing than actually shooting, have a few other mosins, only one that comes out regularly is my t53 which was the first surplus gun i bought, and i like to watch people flinch when they fire her:lol:

Are they Finnish marked or just straight US.

Appear to be pure US. No foreign markings on anything I could see without disassembly. I know the owners has a lot of older friends and clients who regularly bring in older stuff they've had for years seems like a lot of very early surplus. I've only ever got one rifle from him that had import markings

Do either have US acceptance marks? That would make a pretty big difference. The 1917 may not have ever seen Russian service and would be the more likely of the two with US marks. The 1915 in that is mis-matched, are all parts US?

If I came across one with US markings for that price, I'd buy it. Without US markings and all matching I'd think about it. Mis-matched with Russian parts I'd pass. But I have no real idea of value, simply my personal desire to have one.

im going to stop by tomorrow see if their still their and have another look, i know the remington has the ordnance bomb on the stock, at the time i just assumed it was from being american built but looks like i was wrong. i didnt see any on the exposed metal. anyone know if its butt plate orignally had numbers, bolt and mag match the reciever, butts plane no numbers.

the Westinghouse on the other hand i mispoke, its not that it has numbers that dont match, it has no numbers other than the reciever, bolts been scrubbed, didnt see any markings on it none on the magazine or butt plate, thou not sure they were all suppose to be marked, but patina doesnt match so im assuming later russian or chinese, no stock markings that i noticed.

I think ill pick up the remington, with 91/30's now seeming to be nearing 200 at alot of shows, im thinking its not a bad price for the remington, may try to work out a package deal for the westinghouse but will probably pass on it.

US orndance bomb proofed REM. $1000ish, Finned M91 Westinghouse or Rem, $300-500.

I was looking at my Rem 1891, it has a walnut stock and as I stated earlier looks unfired. I know ;where are the pics,they are coming. I was looking at the 91 in this thread and it looked like a birch stock,what most 91 have. Any info on Rem walnut stocks,which would have been
logical for US made rifle. 57thahc
