The scope mount serial number (picture #2) & no Maltese Cross looks off on this item? And any comments on the serial # " L " in picture 14 & 22 would be appreciated.

I do not know much on the Canadian ones and their stampings, plus I am to darn slack to dig out some books but for a start the number on the butts wrist does not match the scope serial No., no TR on the wrist socket left side under serial, the T looks rather I don't know too good but maybe they were neater than the Brits ooops? :yikes: on the receiver again I will leave that to the personnel with far more experience that I.
The screws are not staked on the pads and a woeful butchering on the slots I would dare to say say if Capt Laidlers boys did that to the pad screws then they would be peeling spuds on KP for like 20 years, again I am positive a learned Pelican will fill you in as the price is pretty high and you do not want to be had with a faker I am not saying it is but be wary.
Just about everything on a sniper T is stamped my BSA Shirley has them every where (see BSA Shirley thread of mine), under the butt is there is a code stamp there, mine has S 51 denoting where it was fitted up as each factory that worked on building the T's up has a different code as far as I am aware.
Looks exactly like the one I have.stamps /markings look good.Good price.That would be 10 grand in canada
I did decide to "pull the trigger" on the 1945 Longbranch No.4 MK I T and also a REL C Mk1 Sniper Observers Scope at the same time.

Great looking LB T. The "Maltese Cross" is on forend just under the "L" in the serial #. Don't know why a serial number would be stamped over an inspection mark. Certainly worth the price you paid.
I am somewhat happy to be repatriating this Rifle to Canada.
Nice looking rifle at a decent price for a Long Branch sniper... :thup:

Note the Savage trigger guard too. From the factory. How could it be! Right as rain!!
Has it got the correct rear sight? Believe 1945 used the "S" savage sight with the "Maltese Cross" on it. Like Brian D said " S" Savage triggerguard is right from Long Branch. Very nice purchase!
