Sniper T 1 piece done and now the next move

Well those that looked at my BSA Shirley commented it looked original and I appreciate the input, though it did have some problems as I found out like 10 moa at 100m with reloads.
Anyway it has been away to the Drs and is now bedded by a master stock maker I am going to get pics of a Mk 1 he owns and did the stock on it in English walnut. :thup:

And it looks a treat sprinter did the barrel for him.... oops I digress, anyhow he did my teak stocked Mk III as well so I am getting them both back Friday and hope to get to the range on Sat with a load that gives 2440fps with a 174gn SMK at 38,600 psi so I will keep all informed. :confused:

If it shoots well over open sights but up the Sh*t with the scope then guess Capt. Laidler will be doing up the scope.
So wait a while and I will let the forum know what's what :wave:

You have rebuilt allot of Pauls scopes and he lives not 8 minutes from my house so I have seen your work first hand, he gave me the much travelled black plastic cylinder, I am not rich but understand the simple thing is if you have a Rolls Royce would you take it to a Mitsubishi dealer for a service!

No offence to the other provider but how can you beat Military training and years of working on them, so I will play and if the unit has to trip over to England then so be it but I am hoping so very much that this does not have to eventuate.
Peter if I say get a serviced scope and sit that in the brackets and mount it to the rifle are the odds against it being matched like the original as the bracket and scope and pads are virtually by definition a singular unit the way they are fitted up following the methods described by your self in the book an Armourer's perspective so if the scope is tired I guess your it Ol' Bean.

Just have to convince my wife that if it does have to get repaired then boy this one rifle has set me back 10 Mk III's all up and it is hurtin' but as far as history goes what more could one want, transit case, binos, original scope can................sigh ! an expensive hobby we have :dunno:
Some times when it rains soup I am the one who gets the fork, as my 22/250 PH was a good shooter as I brought it from the web and rang the dealer as it was over eastern states and asked them about it I then till I get it home its nicknamed now the "Black Hole " as I have sunk double what I paid for it in a scope, smithing and crowning it then a new brl.
And it still has issues the left guide pops the round out early and there ya go a jam being a commercial mauser actioned weapon but I persist... the T is more important :super:
