Want to know how much does it worth? Keep it or let it go and find a better one
I have a 98k ( byf 43), all matching except barrel, front sight hood is missing,
floorplate marked (germany)
receiver:51316 and has ( h) beside it.
barrel bands:1316 x2
bolt: 1316 h
safety catch: 1316
bolt sleeve: 1316
cocking piece: 1316
extractor: 16? been cycle so many times look more like 0 than 6?
( has about 60% brownish blueing left )
firing pin: not sure. never take the bolt apart
sear: 16
bolt stop: 16
rear sight: 1316
trigger guard: 51316
cup butt plate: gqm43 with WaAA98 or WaA198
stock and upper hand guard: 51316 varnished
cleaning rod: no marking with 75-80% blueing
BARREL: 116 2005
mag follower and spring has no marking
* not sure the varnish on my rifle is org. stock and all the metal parts has varnish
Not sure does worth to keep it or get rid of it

You should do when you acquire a new rifle. Bolts can be gummed up by fossilized grease and general crud, causing a sluggish strike and thus possible misfires, especially on military surplus ammo with tough primers.
Find the online-tutorial on dismantling and reassembling a Mauser bolt. Dismantle, clean, grease lightly, reassemble, and it will be good to go for probably more shots than the average civilian user will ever fire.

- A sure sign that someone has sloshed on the varnish and the finish is not original. So who cares? First establish whether it is a good shooter. If so, keep it, strip off the varnish and feed the wood with linseed oil. Often Bubba's application of varnish has actually preserved the wood underneath! Search the Mauser and the Restorers forums for "treacle rifle" to see what I mean and what to do.
