German ZF39 and Japanese Type 99 Scopes

Hi everyone,

I've had these 2 scopes in my collection for some years. I'm just wondering as to the value of them both.

1st up is a German ZF39:

As can be seen, there is a small crack internally on the objective lens, but this cant be seen when you look through it. The scope is clear at range and the range drum moves freely.



Next up is a Japanese Type 99 2.5x Scope:

Again, as can be seen, someone in it's past life had decided to take a cutter to the mount :mad: which is a shame. The original eye cup is still there but rather ragged, and the internals could do with a good clean, but it still focuses onto objects and the graduated graticule is still there.



Both scopes have had light cleanings since these photos were taken, but the Type 99 scope I had to blue to keep the rust from forming on it since it had been painted enamel black over the original finish which was mostly gone.

Are you looking to sell them, or generally a ballpark of their value?

The German BMJ+ is nice and original, but not in a very good condition. It's similar to an Ajack scope which also came with HT mounts and didn't sell on eBay for $1000, so probably somewhere in the same area. Regarding the Japanese scope, the last seperate scope I've seen for sale was from a guy in France which were somewhere around € 400, but not that dirty.

Cheers for the reply. I'm in the initial stages of considering selling them (if that makes sense), to fund another project. But as usual I'm in 2 minds about it (myself and "selling things" don't usually appear in the same sentence heheh).

I was referring to this Ajack scope: WW2 German Sniper Scope Mauser K98 Ajack 4x90 | eBay . It is in very similar condition, probably the BMJ+ is a bit rarer, but the Ajack is a bit more sought after due to being better for shooting. Either way, I assume they are nearly identical of value. If you decide to sell your BMJ+, drop me a PM. I could be interested, whenever you decide to sell it.
