CArbine Club question
I just mailed out a check for this year. So I'm looking forward to getting I again since I didn't renew for 2012-13. I'm more than happy to submit info to them and I have done so a few times and one time it was printed in the 2010 ,my question is , let's say I buy an original carbine and submit a report on it, would it be possible to get a copy of a report on the same rifle it was ever submitted in the past by a previous owner ?

One other question, I recently found the receipt from the first carbine I bought as a kid and later sold, I have the serial number on the receipt . Would it be possible to track down that carbine through them ?

I've never asked about that. Look on the back page of one of your old newsletters. There is an email to the person who handles membership requests as well as the data sheets.

Filling out a Data Sheet does not mean it is your carbine. It only means you saw it, at a gun show, friend or family, etc. Many times the last one or two numbers are X'ed out.
But the bigger question is, "So you still remember your first one?"
I am lucky enough to still have my first, a DCM 4.59 Rock-Ola bought in 1972 for $90.00 with three mags and a box of ammo in LaGrange, Ga.
And the CC may have privacy concerns about giving out names with serial numbers, but I see on harm in trying.

Yes I remember it, I bought it on my 18th birthday, traded it in for a .357 on my 21st. Serial number on the receipt is 205135, I remember it was a blue sky import. I would love to get it back

I tried to get datasheet once of previous reported carbine I bought. Is a private matter as they won't give out previous owners info. I was able to only get its not quite like it was the first time. As a club for gathering information anything more would be a problem. At first I was miffed but understand privacy and other issues that go along with. Its just a data gathering base, not a registration agency.

Yes I can understand that also, but on the other hand would they at least contact an old owner via email or phone and say hey this person would like to talk to you, here is their contact info and leave it up to them to make the first move. Or would the CC not even bother to help in such situation ?
-
they are volunteering, if you were volunteering would you want to look up 10 -20 serials a night? LOL I am just saying that as I would not, if the CC guy was paid for doing maybe ok but on the volunteer basis, nah it ain't gonna happen --too many phone calls emails and still opinions to be expressed down the road, no one deserves that for volunteering

CArbine Club question
Maybe they should publish a list of what was submitted, that would save a lot of hassle. Also since it's a quarterly publication now, don't you think they should do more then one COM ?
