Yet another M1 Garand stock question! :)

I recently acquired a WWII era garand, Serial 1,6xxx,xxx. Everything on the rifle is correct as far as I can see, but I am having trouble identifying where the stock is from. There are no visible cartouches. The only markings on the gun are a small A-P on the bottom of the pistol grip and the number "69" on the inside of the stock. There is another spot on the grip which looks like a possible sanded off or worn cartouche, maybe a circled P, but I can't tell if I'm just imagining it. Can anyone help? Here are some pics

Looks to be an early SA/GHS stock and your rifle should have an EMcF stock on it.

I think the "A-P" is an "RA-P". Raritan Arsenal rebuild mark.

Thank you for all of your answers! I appreciate the responses. A couple of questions if you don't mind. Obviously the gun and the stock met up at a later date if the stock is early 40s and the rest of the rifle is May of '43. What type of rebuilds were done at Raritan? I'm only asking because I'm wondering if it is possible that only the stock went to Raritan, but was not accompanied by this particular rifle. All of the parts on my M1 are consistent with May of '43. Receiver, barrel, op rod (uncut). The trigger assembly (HRA) and stock are the only pieces that appear to be "incorrect." Would they have made the notch cut in the Op Rod at Raritan post war? If this stock is indeed early SA/GHS, has the stamp likely been sanded off? So many questions that I'm sure will never be answered fully, but that is the fun of it, isn't it? The wondering... :)[COLOR="black"]

What gives it away?

A rifle that goes for rebuild goes complete. Parts are stripped off and changed or re-finished as required to bring them up to current spec. The chances are that your rifle isn't still retaining original parts, but that's as far as the correcting has been done. The stock is what came to hand during the parts collecting.
