A friend has one. Works fine, but it's plenty heavy. Very odd description in the descriptive text that you linked:
"Rifles like the AR15/M16 are extremely prone to slipping and to become damaged from the immense recoil."
???? Eh? "immense recoil"??? Maybe with a .50 BMG single shot upper.
I've never had a "slippage problem" even on the .308/7,62 ARs. Two favorites of mine are the Magul CTR and the LMT Modstock. The CTR has an anti-wiggle clamp and provision for snap on cheek risers. The Modstocks are generally fairly tight without the clamp.
ETA: Ach! You are from Ca. Can't help much with legality dramas. You may need to see what's OK there first, or maybe that's the reason for the UBR question?

They haven't come up with a stock for the carbine yet...they have for the M14... By the way, I've tried some of these new stocks and they're great. I'm just too cheap to change out my little M4gery. The standard old pattern works well and I'm too broke down to go to war anymore...
I felt one and it was HEAVY! The AR15 was designed as a sub-6 pound lightweight rifle. Smooth and ergonomic. I am amazed at the great masses of people's desire to take this delightful, handy rifle (or carbine) and turn it into a 10 pound battle rifle still using the 5.56 that the lightweight version excelled with. I felt a friend's M4 with all the whistles and bells that weighed OVER 10 pounds. If I was going to carry 9 or 10 pounds of rifle, I'd cary my PTR91 (HK91 clone) in 7.62x51!

A lightweight 1/7 twist 20" barrel on an original rifle would allow the use of 77 gran OTM MK262 Mod1 ammo. The one concession to modernity is a 1/7 M4 barrel on the bottom one,my GUU-5P carbine.
I have the CTR on mine. I like it but I still have a problem with my beard getting caught under the front of it. I'm seriously considering going to a fixed a2 stock just for that reason.

They've taken the "lite" out of Armalite!! I love my BFI/Colt M4 14.5" SBR but I can be found frequently loosing off a few rounds from my semi-auto SGW/Colt M16A1 clone. Dow Arms Room in Florida have a near perfect match baking paint to match up the lowers to the old grey uppers so even though I built it, it looks as good as factory.

I still like my early Colt CAR 15 stock, very lightweight and comfortable open or closed
