We have a copy of the War diary & Trench map as well so we know more or less where he was killed. Which was at Angres Sector 1
April 2 Relieved the 8th Battalion Buffs 1 O.R. Wounded by shrapnel
April 3 Fighting Patrol in German Trenches
April 4 Handed over captured Bosche trench to the Buffs
April 5 Repelled strong German attack
April 6 Heavy Bombardment along the line & Gas attack. 13 O.R. Arrive as reinforcements
April 7 Our trenches were heavily bombarded by the enemy 3 O.R. killed by direct hit on the trench, My Grandfather was one of the 3 KIA.

And my Great Uncle, Leslie Harold Sadler, 58th Brantford, (91st St Thomas first) My mother's uncle killed 12th Apr,1917...
Killed on the fourth day of a three day battle, in a unit that was held in reserve(not committed to battle) while trench raiding.
