L42 scope on used guns
I have contacted the seller to ask for additional pics and serial No.s so if it does have a rifle out there to be re-united with may be possible to get them together again.
It could be a bitsa but this is not stated.

All markings ground off scope and bracket.
Refitting the assembly to a different weapon can be achieved by a competent experienced armourer.Correctly collimating the scope is within the ability of the adjustments provided on the scope, provided the rifle mount pads were correctly installed.
Some L1A1 scopes were made new and fully marked on leaving the factory.
Many No 32 MK3 scopes were gutted and rebuilt using new parts to convert them into a L1A1 scope and after having the previous [now no longer applicable] numbers deleted, they were painted with black enamel paint and returned into service.
Who converted my scope,be it a factory or R.E.M.E.Armorer Major Optic Workshop Unit,is unknown to me.The party supplying the components and competently rebuilding the scopes could only be an approved repairer.
Sorry guys so it remains a mystery as to what rifle this scope belongs if it does at all grinding off all serials did they do that Peter L ?
