The Wehrmacht listed captured weapons for their own use and issued those that it re-issued with a new code number. These are generally called "Beutewaffen".
what do you mean by "code number"? like how it WAS a vz24 but they referred to it as a G24t? otherwise my serials and all other numbers are unchanged. So was it Beutewaffen or not?
That's not quite correct. The Germans used captured vz24's yes but G.24(t)'s weren't captured rifles, they were a newly produced vz24 variant made for the Wehrmacht at the CZB plant in '41 and '42. Approx. 255,000 were made before the change over to K98k production. A real G.24(t) will have the ''dou'' code and the date of manufacture on the receiver ring and the G.24(t) model designation on the left sidewall.
I once owned a German Wehrmacht published booklet that listed "Beutwaffen" that contained code names, calibre and other relevant information. Think that there was a reprint at some time.
