No doubt in my mind that's Korea...sure looks like a well ridden M1 he has there. Lots of minor stock dings.
The obvious desert conditions had me guessing it was a training establishment somewhere in the American Southwest

Well, those are called Hornrims I think. They were still issuing those in the '70s. Mind you, there were still thousands of brand new M1 clips out on the 13th Div prairie in Ft Lewis Wa at that time too...
I have no clue Jim. As a guess, judging from the tank (not a Sherman), the glasses, the field jacket on the RTO, and the desert looking terrain, I'd say somewhere from ~1956 to ~1960. I really don't know American equipment. I generally know it when I see it, but I'm not an authority by any road.
