Replace the magazine spring, or at least take it out and stretch it. You have insufficient spring tension.
look for China made repro parts..
i had one sent to me to make shoot...rifle was full of repro crap parts.. sadly even after those parts including the stock were changed, the rifle never would shoot better then a 10 inch group.
Is this a USGI reciever that they've built into a rifle ? They might have put a 1917 spring in there . Get ahold of Bill Ricca and have him ship you a true 1903 spring and a stamped and a milled follower . If these don't solve your problem , then you'll need to look at the gap between the triggerguard and reciever . You may need to bring them closer together , which envolves inletting the wood . Switching spring / follower first is much easier / cheeper .

PS :
Just thought of what Chuck said . Check on Ricca's site about repro triggerguards , how to ID them . If your's is , you might replace that , too.
Rock Ridge? So who are they? I'm guess this is a Drill Rifle?
yes, recovered drill rifles.
they offered a Match grade A3...nothing about the rifle was match grade..heck not even shoot a target at 50 feet grade..
