Will a rose bros bracket always have the letters JC stamped on it? I notice that the bracket on the knowledge library entry for a BSA No 4 Mk 1 T does not appear to be stamped. What is the go here? I am looking at a 1944 BSA T that has what appears to be a Rose bracket without the letters JC or any other letters stamped on it.
My BSA '44 T has the JC stamp on the bracket but that's as far as I can go others will no doubt chime in and expand on the knowledge. If you could supply pics the forum love pics. :thup:
Here is a pic of an early rose brothers bracket I picked up a year ago. I posted a question about the mark, and several members identified it as an early mark. If I find the thread, I will post the link.
As far as I am aware the vast majority of Rose Brothers' brackets bear the JG inspection mark. However, some bear KD. I don't think anyone knows for sure but I'd hazard a guess that they are the initials of the two inspectors involved. The marking that smle addict shows above is also a very scarce variant & probably is early, as many factories stamped their name or initials at first, but as the war progressed the factory coding system was used more & more. (For example early Singer rear sights bearing SM but later ones N67; or early BSA No4's being marked B & the date, subsequently switched to the code M47/C).

Forgot to mention that of course the inspection mark might not be present simply because the bracket has been through a couple of ordnance refurbs.
