M1A1 stock ?

I have 3 pictures, please take a look and tell me if you think there is any indication that this stock maybe a cut down highwood.

Can you read the markings on the bottom of the hand grip?GK

The bottom of the pistol grip says OI with the crossed cannons very faint, the hand guard is marked OI.

If I remember correctly that should be an early grip, so you could have an early stock. I'm not sure about it being a cut down hi wood. GK

I've had a couple of M1A1 carbines with the early stamps on the grip that apparently had the Hi-wood opened up and at least the two I had, you could tell the cutting and extending of the opening was not machine done like a new manufactured one would have been. Ray

I think it has been cut down to low wood. Look close on the left side for any sign of a rebuild stamp and excessive sanding of the stock.

Here all my pictures,keep in mind the carbine serial number is too early. I don't think it's been cut down, it's very smooth and color and wear is consistant. But I'm open to everyones thoughts. Thanks Chris

The whole thing looks righteous to me. BTW, I have 4927380 but it is now a rebuild.

Does this have any cartouche marks? Really need to see the metal also. There are very good quality repro folders that are very close to the original metal casting marks. Generally you do not see any cartouche marks on these repros. Fit and function is as the original at one quarter or less the cost.
