Fwiw. He is a professional seller and does not care for anal collectors. If I was selling I would use him in a heartbeat. ThAt said he said I was too picky. He is 100% behind anything he sells. I got banned from Bidding on his auctions. That said also I have had a friend buy one from him. Again always buy the gun and not the story. Don't expect to be on his good list if you return it. I have recommended two collector friends to use him as a seller. Look at his pictures and also always look for what ain't pictured. He doesn't have time to deal with us anal types.
The guy can sell ice cream to an Eskimo. Usually below par pictures and descriptions, he somehow manages to get top dollar most all the time. I don't like these professional sellers. I like the plain and to-the-point descriptions with excellent pictures. With Jack, its like getting the pitch on a used car, but don't dare look under the hood. And I have a personal rule for Gunbroker as well as ebay. If the seller's BS 'requirements' take up more space than the item description, I move on. No matter what. I will not give these egocentric misanthropes my business.
There were 52 detailed close up pictures of every part of the rifle in the auction and that sold the rifle.(PICs) There was a 2 paragraph description with only factual data presented.....no story. A young man named Mark was the contact and seemed to be truthful and current. I'll post pics when it arrives. Regards, Rick.
I have bought a couple non-M1 Carbine items and firearms from him. Always have been very happy with the transactions. He generally has very good items.
JtD sells very nice pieces and is honest. Judge the item by the photo's not the written description.
I bought from him, no problem. He's usually the only one that has decent pics and plenty of them.
I look at it this way Rick:
You are a very smart fellow and know a lot about the subject at hand and others, if you decide to go ahead, the only thing that can screw it up is what we don't know or can't see.
I would find it very hard to buy on line because there is so much fraud or deception. My personal peeve is when the seller decides to give a history lesson about the gun's maker instead of specifics about the item he's selling. All of this is made easier because nobody sells to anyone in California.
Can't wait to see the Quality Hardware. I think that they were one of the most interesting and detail oriented makers of carbines of the bunch. I'd love to own a good one.
Well, it will be here Tuesday and the verdict will be in.
I bought a small action Martini No 9 from him and was very happy.
