Extremely Odd Schmidt Rubin 1911 Long Rifle questions

Hi all,

I have a question about a odd rifle I received today. It is a 1911 Long Rifle but its serial number falls in the range of a Zoll K11. Serial Number is P2094. It also has a cloth or plastic ring around the barrel instead of the regular aluminum one. The front sight also seems to be the K11/K31 style (its not like my 96/11) I am hoping someone here can illuminate more about this rifle as it is a mystery to me.

I wish i could help you but those guns have some gorgeous wood on them particularly the long rifle and the 1911 carbine love the looks of the figure. I picked up a 1911 recently that had a what I thought was paper ring around the barrel was afraid to do much with it it looked very fragile and dried out, wasn't sure what it was actually this was my first 1911

I ended up getting rid of this rifle as it just didn't fit within the realms of what I wanted in my collection (I also got rid of the duplicates but added a (I.)G. 1911 Long Rifle in there). What I figure happened was someone likely bought it as a 1911 Carbine (K11) and converted it into a target rifle by putting a G11 barrel on it well whittling down the front of the barrel a bit to allow the K31 sight on it. I am sure it would have shot well but it just wasn't what I wanted (all original Swiss Rifles).
