I talked about this in a post last week.
Well I just got this M1 bayonet took some photos as is. I am curious about the American Fork & Hoe and then Union Fork & Hoe. It has not been sharpened. No nicks. Needs a bit of cleaning so if you have hints pass em on.
I shot my A303 at 200 yds with it on. Not too bad. 1.5 MOA and the same lower than my previous shots w/o it. Not a real experiment, just tried it out.
I was impressed by the formidable piece of kit a rifle and bayonet make.

American Fork and Hoe made it and Union Fork and Hoe did the cut job... So you say your MPI was lower than without the blade on?
Yes. I was testing some reloads and after putting on the bayonet I fired six more 3" down and 3" apart. Couple of flyers. Just a tryout. Spent most of the morning with the M1A. I'm going to spend more time next time and maybe at 100 yds.Quote:

It's one of them. When you have all the variants and makers and different shapes and grips...you'll have lots. It's just fine. Excellent example.
Now you need an uncut 1942 AFH to compare to it. Then a garand to put the second bayonet on.Then things go down hill like a snow ball.:)
On a side note, Ferris' book on the US 1917 Enfield lists the change in impact on shooting with the bayonet on the rifle.
