Is this M6 bayonet real? (moved)

Hi guys, I just bought this M6 bayonet. It is made of stainless steel. (not plated chrome or nickel). It was described by the seller as being Navy issued for corrosion resistance. It has the correct Milpar stamping and the defense acceptance stamp. The M8A1 scabbard looks pretty new which is black and not green. It has no belt hanger nor does was it ever there. Is this military original? I have been collecting bayo's for many years with over a hundred in my collection and never seen a stainless US bayonet. Swiss 57 maybe. Thanks, Jordan

Are you sure it's stainless Jordan? It looks to have been wire wheeled to remove finish and leave it bright. Have you tried some cold blue to see if it takes? The navy used the same blades for the most part. I saw the M6 blades on the USS Alamo in 89 and they were the black ones...standard... The scabbard is a newly manufactured one.

I'm not aware of a stainless M6 having been produced. The scabbard is a commercial copy.
