Bsa 1917 sht le 111 advice

Hi guys picked this up sorry pictures are not real good it is a BSA 1917 SHT LE 111 410. NUMBER 83972 botl matchs reciever not much else. got lots of marks an marks all over. missing saftey linkage looks like its snapped off. an also striker looks like its snapped off. can it all be replace an put back in use. dont got alot invested less than taking wife to dinner so far. thanks mike :D

I knida thought so was sitting on table full of those funny looking black plastic rifles at show today an wife spotted it. only took about an hour to get bolt out an apart. bore looks good so far got it soaking with kroil. Didn not know it was 410 till i got grease off wrist area. only paid 60.00 for it. seams like it was a buyers show today very few people there an dealers were cring the blues. I guess between holiday an start of our deer season no one is around. Now i got to hunt up the right missing parts. most important is right striker.

Pardon? .410 bore? Ok, that can be dealt with too. Brass is a wide open .303 cartridge and is available. This could be fun...

The D.P is perhaps how it ended up a .410 cartridge which will operate at allot lower pressure than a Mk VII round if your not fussed about being period correct the parts are readily available Brian Dick owner of BDL will be the most likely source of parts to assist you. I always have the firearm checked out by a gunsmith before firing, at $60.00 is an excellent price it would be funny once you have it all together and going to rock up and have a go at say single rise clays.
Imagine all the guys faces with their Berreta's and Perazzi's when you remove that from the gun case now that would be priceless.......:D

Now Ciders i agree with you there that would be priceless to have a picture of all those wondful fussy trap shooter faces when i shot that old war horse on the line.:D

Cinders you are a stirrer but then I would do the same as well it would be fun.:D

well did get lucky today again went back out to the gun show half the vendiors were leaving or packing up at 11am. maybe show sponsers will not do a show on a week end between a holiday an first day deer season. but was looking in some junk parts boxes an found a striker cost me a whole 8.00 everything that i could match up is the same just got to make sure part that is missing is ok lenght wise.

Plenty of info on this site on striker protrusion just search it. ($8 again you did well plenty of springs on the net as well heaps in the UK)
Yes Bindi2 I have been known to cause a raucous from time to time but all in the name of harmless fun, like the day we accidently killed a Dugite in the hay paddock and tied fishing line to it and placed it next to where our manager parked same spot every day then hid (he was petrified of Josephs.)

Trust me he pulled up opened the door so we pulled the fishing line, tell'ya he closed the drivers door so hard and jumped out the other side of his Suzuki ute I thought it had 2 left doors!
