Giraud case trimmer
Tired of trimming hundreds of .556/.223 cases I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a Giraud case trimmer.
It arrived a couple of days ago and I put it to use last night. Will have to count how many I did trim but it sure was fast and didn't take much effort at all.
The trimmer itself is a work of genius, extremely well made and is preset to trim to the exact length which is adjustable should a person want a shorter length. I also purchased a cutter for .308 and even though I don't think I will use it much wanted it as well.
We have thousands of empty .556/.223 cases and after using a hand trimmer on about 500 over a couple of days decided my sanity was worth the money to buy a powered trimmer.
When I called to order the trimmer I talked to Mrs. Giraud and must say one of the most pleasant experiences I have had. She told me it would be about a month before it would be shipped and that was fine with me. The trimmer was shipped 4 days earlier than expected, came in a custom fitted box so arrived in perfect condition. Top notch to deal with and would buy from them again in a heart beat.
I researched many cutters on the internet and this one is not cheap however if you want to do volume it is the way to go. I am a firm believer when it comes to mechanical devices you do get what you pay for and this item is a perfect example.
They also make a case annealer which I tried to purchase only to find out it is under the UN treaty so not exportable without the paperwork required and for a single item not feasible. What a shame as after watching videos on how it works, like the trimmer it is genius and again well worth the investment. For you US citizens this is a item worth considering if you are a volume shooter.

Got to agree with you here. I've done scads of everything...this is definitely faster. Here's a link for those that need... Giraud Powered Case Trimmer - YouTube

I don't have his trimmer as I already had a modified Gracy before the Giraud trimmer came out. But I do have his annealer and it works as advertised, and just like the trimmer, it's built like a tank. It is also adaptable to just about any cartridge case with very few extra parts, unlike some other brands.
The annealer is designed to use the short, fat camp stove propane bottles. If you have a very large number of cases to do, you will want to buy an extension hose and use a 20lb. BBQ grill propane tank as the flame decreases as the pressure drops in the camp stove bottles. Not an issue unless you are doing very large batches.
My experience with Mrs. G mirrors yours. She was very pleasant, had answers to all my questions, and went out of her way to accommodate my delivery request. (which saved me the shipping charges) They are great folks to deal with.

Both are highly recommended on both counts.
