P14 & M1917 Rifles
Hi all, just picked up a low number P14 to keep my 1917 Eddystone company. Both in good condition, the point of interest in the P14 is the very low serial number.
Another point of interest in the rear sight on the P14, it has fine adjustment.
Feel free to pass comment, apologies for the low res photos, will need to employ my DSLR.

P14
Thanks Jim, I wasnt sure what the problem with the photos was. Back to the P14, has anyone else seen a double digit model by any of the manufacturers?
-
Short answer, no. Never seen numbers that low.

I'm pretty sure that we've already seen this P.14 rifle. I believe it was someone else from Australia who had posted pictures of his rifle. If my memory serves me correctly, the rifle had a matching bolt, but a non-matching F-sight. Is this correct?
Edit: found it .. here -> P14 w98

Thanks Promo, I purchased this locally (Victoria) off another collector, glad I read your link, now I wont feel so guilty shooting this one!! The barrel is pristine as mentioned in the previous post, this is the second rifle from the same source, the other was a matching GEW98.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the rifle? I'm just wondering what they cost in Australia. If you have the time, try to find an original Winchester stock. It's definately worth it!

Hi Promo more than $1000 AUD, rifles do tend to cost more over here though. My GEW cost over $1500 but its a 1915 DWM, all matching with a perfect bore. Both rifles came from the same source, I have my eye on one of 3, No1 Mark III HT snipers he has. Will be paying upwards of $6k if he relents and let me have one!!
On a side note here is a better photo of my M1917:
