Nice. Still the guys wouldn't see that too often. I'd probably make a sub cal cartridge that took a .50 basic brass cartridge and cast big 500 gr bullets for it...chamber ream would cost you but I think it would be worth it.
Being a engineer & RFD I made up a replica of the .55" *** .22" CONVEYOR using an old Martini International barrel which was fun for a while.
Not sure why the asterix blocked out the name of the conveyor, probably looks like a rude word
Slightly off center bore I should think? That way the firing pin locates it? I'd make up a steel cartridge...several if feasible, and then get sweating... Still it sounds like quite a job to make a full size cartridge with a small lathe, no CNC machines on hand.
Have a look at my pals website, it shows the adaptor which uses a firing plug so no issue with being off centre for the rim fire,

Hopefully going to take it to Kynoch range to give it a test with some .55 practise ammo a RFD friend of mine acquired
According to the pre war Inf Trg pamphlets, they could be fired on suitable 25m ranges!
Love to see the progress on that one. You can get dies for it too. Keep us in mind Simon...
