Springfield Cal 22 M2 question

Should one with a 4-37 date have the Ordnance Corps and boxed SA cartouche on the stock?

The cartouche you describe indicates the rifle went through rebuild. These M2 Rifles came from Springfield Armory as new items with no cartouches except that some had a small M2 stamped in the bottom of the pistol grip.
