Went out a week or so ago to test accuracy of a 4T and I noticed it was hard to get the same hold on the targets I use.
The targets are just to small to see with the lower power of the no32 scope.
Any suggestions as to a target design that would work better with the lower power and thicker aiming point on the no32 scope?
SR1 targets work quite well, with a 6.5 inch black bullseye.
MR-21 and MR31 work just as weel with a 6.33 and 6.25 inch bull.
all can be found on line , if you can print on a 11 x 17 paper you can print out a very nice target.
I often use a 25yard timed and rapid fire pistol target at 100 to 200 yards. Great at 300, where it seems about perfectly matched to the post width, but a bit small if the scope isn't in the best condition. Most of my No.32 and L1a1 scopes are crisp enough optically to show bullet holes outside the black at 100yards, no trouble, unless it's really dim out!
Surely........... with the scope your interest should be the tip of the graticle? The width if the grat is academic, it's what's sitting ON the tip of the grat what counts.
Something else too.......... Or am I banging my head against a wall again? ACCURACY is completed at 25 yards but while ZEROING is done by the sniper at 3 or 400 yards. Accuracy and zeroing not being the same thing of course
I use a two inch square on a piece of typewriter paper at 100 yards. I don't have a 300-400 yard range here.
I'm most defiantly using just the tip, but even then it was hard to get the same hold on the targets I use for rifles with a higher power and thinner cross hair.Quote:

You can also buy Birchwood Casey "Shoot & See" targets and they are great. I got them with 1" squares and 2" squares. Just stick one on a piece of paper and "Bob's your Uncle". The 2" square at 100 yards was an official MoD zeroing target by the way. I also use 1" pasters to rough zero at 25 yds with both scopes and iron sights. The key is to have a definitive aiming mark. It saves ammo big time and eliminates the human factor a bit if you have a good solid bench rest. Turn the square targets to a diamond to zero all kinds of scopes with cross wires.
