Can anyone tell me what drawing # the reciever leg should have on 4537XXX?
I just want to be sure I'm not looking at a welded up rifle.
Thanks,
azimuth

Drawing number would be D6528291-J. The serial number of this one (Duff's Green Book) was 4575534.
D6528291-J appears on 4578XXX and as IHC D6528291 J on 5178XXX. So the J is probably not a heat lot code, but a drawing number and correct if no reweld marks are evident.
Seems that one of the best traits of CSP has followed our transition to milsurps,com...the sharing of one's knowledge in order to help out others.
Thank you both!

The letter following he drawing number is believed to be a heat lot code. But don't pay it much concern. As Bob Seijas said in one of his writtings " some very late receivers carry letter codes that are quite early - apparently lots of things laid around and got out of sequence. The classic example is found on Dave McClain's pair of consecutively serialed IHCs with different letter codes and barrel dates :" 4584311 D6528291-C LMR 3 53 and 4584312 D6528291-G LMR 7 53
I just ran down to the gun room and checked. My IHC serial number 45492XX is stamped D6528291-E no spaces and no other markings. Hope this helps.
"13.6 miles from the North Store...."
God help you brother! I'd hate to think where I'd be if I lived close to
either store. Definitely would no longer be married! :runaway:
My wife takes me to the North Store for father's day and says, "Pick one!".
What a woman!
:super:
I have IHC #45839xx with D6528291-l and IHC #51972xx with D6528291-J.
JAS you got one of a kind women there:thup:. First my wife would never go to the store with me (boring). Second pick one out (No Waaayyy).
