4 digit correct Inland on GB

Nice looking little time capsule. This one I could believe, someone stole it early and set it aside because it was something new at the time. It's had some sanding to the wood...yes, a lot of cash.

Unbelievable how sweet that is! Lots of detailed pictures and lots of description! Does the stock look sanded to anyone else besides Jim? It is hard to tell but the butt plate seems to show a little overhang??? Not running it down at all. Just a question for discussion. :)

It's just that there's evidence of dings and such that seem to have been erased...maybe it was just steamed out. Right side of the pistol grip. Even at the heel of the butt the metal comes at least even with if not over the wood. Also the trigger mech stands well proud of the belly of the stock...

Shouldn't the slide be a E168?

It is an easily identifiable restoration and not a very good one at that.

Appealing low serial number. It appears nice, but there are questions. Even though the seller mentions two hammer marks, that means at least one part had been upgraded then replaced. How many others?

bigger then the hammer usage the biggest sore spot is the drilled out spring tube hole in the rear, the gun was bought buy Fred Hawkey back in 2004-2008 era, I remember seeing pics of it he sent me and had to tell him what was wrong with it-it sold at his estate sale back a yr ago in Mich--Fred had died and left his 30 inland collection to his niece. It brought around 3000 at the auction from memory. All of Fred's guns were restorations except #3546 However 2961 was sold to him as original. It was far from it.

Isn't this the same Carbine when showed on here last Sept. Someone here bidded a 1.00 when it was first listed ?
