Hi Milsurp,
I've got another "grainy pic special" which I'm sure the experts on this forum will be able to identify.
More of a fun exercise for everyone, kinda like a jigsaw puzzle.

Yep, and appears to be a 'last ditch' Type 99 as well.
Thems some really lousy photos but both rifles appear to be late war Type 99 Arisakas.Quote:

Yeah, both look like the late-model Type-99 rifles, due to the fixed notch sight on the clearer pic.
The Sword may be a German NCO sword.
Anyone have a link for more detailed information on the Arisaka rifles?
How do I determine if they are "decent shooters" versus total crap/dangerous?

It hurts me in the squishy places to see this rifle, in this state. Can't stand when folks mistreat their firearms. All she needs is a lil tlc.
Here's to crossing my fingers it's a trainer. Although still worthless, it'd be neat to have.
