Any idea what the story was behind this picture? All seem to be looking up with some nervous expectation. I wonder what they see?

Don't know, but the cameraman is pretty much exposed.

Takes a lot of dicpline not to drop the Kodak and pick up an M1 when the lead is in the wind. Brave lads.

It wouldn't be in his discipline to pick up a rifle. He would likely be a civilian and not a combatant...I think...

Is that a GI at 2 oclock over the others shoulder being hit!!

They called the move to Bastogne "the tailgate jump" because they were brought in by truck :)
