Auction - Came across a Beautiful 1903-A4 sniper, totally correct remington

Ladies and Gents,

I was searching the auction site GB and came across a beautiful 1903A4 sniper. It is all correct with correct scope and mount and all the accoutrements. There is provenance paperwork too. States that it was issued but never used. The pictures are very good and well presented. Might be worth a look if you are interested in a great A4 with all the trimmings.

As far as I can tell this new member is pointing out this rifle he found while perusing GB. If this is the seller then yes, it should be posted in the for sale however stated I didn't believe it is. Thanks guys :thup:

We've always allowed members to post links to interesting things from auction sites as long as they're not promoting their own auctions here or 'lifting' photos etc. as we've just discussed...

This sale is particularly interesting to me.... it's in wonderful condition with some providence. I'd rather read what some of the top experts have to say about it's authenticity myself. I see nothing wrong with this rifle myself as far as being real, but one of the masters might know something more.

I've thinned out my collection over the last ten years for various reasons. This rifle may well have the oppurtunity to have a new home here. The bids at $6500.00 as I type. Six days to go so we'll see!
I saw a post on CMP about this Rifle/Auction. John Beard/ Et Al have personally examined the rifle and declared it rightous. My observation of the auction photos agree with that.
Within my personal limits there may well be a 'bidding war' next Sunday.:yikes:

As pointed out, we often get some cross posting in the informational forums, when interesting items appear on auction, or other sites. Generally we let them co-exist unless the poster happens to be hyping is own sale, but in this case I wasn't sure.

It was the poster's first thread on the site and he hasn't been back since, so it's possible he's pumping his own sale.

Anyway, for now I've moved the thread from the 1903 informational forums to "Commercial Sale and Auction Gossip" Forum ... :thup:

YES. Doug and I agree 100%. Jim (BAR) found another post that I think violates at least one of our policies...
(I sometimes wonder how in the heck Jim finds these things!)

I always want to accept everyone here, but a big sales post from a one-time poster does sound very suspicious as you guys have pointed out.

I agree completely, and you are almost always correct with almost everything from this forum yourself...

If John Beard also signs this rifle off as the real thing, then I accept it completely as real.

Heck I might even dig deep and make an offer too Sunday....

I would love it as well but the freight and getting it here would be a PITA, as for promotional stuff that should not be on its well like a form of shill bidding hyping your own gear....hhhmmmph
