Buffalo Bill Musem cody Wyoming

Here are a few photo's of one of the best gun museums I ever went to at the Buffalo Bill museum there are a few different section one western art then one the Buffalo Bill wild west show then one on American Indian history then what most of you will be interested in the gun museum.

There's tomany guns in this museum to take photo's of you will have to see it for your self. It's takes about two days to see every thing in the museum that much stuff to see. If any of you are into vintage Winchesters they have all the records in there library. They have the earliest gun to the present just about.

I'll bet what you see is just a small fraction of what there is in possession.

Your probably right only a small fraction. A friend of mine when I lived in Calf part of his families gun collection in that museum he was originally from Wyoming here is a link to the museum.

I know the war museum in Ottawa Canada has a downstairs lock up system that dwarfs the display. A gunsmith I knew used to work there and told me of but a small fraction of what he saw. Most were stored on open racks and in triwall boxes(40"x40"x44" giant cardboard box) and these on shelves. Now they're at least racked. Then there's the Champlin aircraft museum with a comprehensive collection of Thompson SMGs...all on the wall. Would that be the J Curtis Earl collection?

If I ever make it to England the imperial War Museum on my bucket list had a friend who saw it and it takes a lot to amaze him so it's on my bucket list. I bet they have a large weapons collection.

Have been to Cody and the museum twice, never had enough time and that is my fault. A person could spend several days there to take in what is shown. Same for Imperial War Museum in London, a must see if you ever visit the UK.

I think a must visit is the Springfield Armory in Massachusetts. It manufactured U.S. military firearms from 1777 until its closing in 1968.

Of special interest to me were the WW1 trench rifles with raised scopes.
