I would be leery of it. All the savage snipers I've seen have had 5 groove.
Pictures would really help.
The most important thing is to get photo's if at all possible, & post them here. You'll then have any number of knowledgeable people falling over themselves to help you.
As an aside, 'your rifle' could be a fake, but it might not be. It may be genuine & rebarrelled with a 2 groover, or it may be totally genuine - one of the few that 'slipped through the net'. I have owned genuine unadulterated T's with 2 groove barrels. There are not many about but.....there are a few. I'm guessing as well that if it is real it will be a Mk1* rifle & will have a serial number in the 11C to 15C range, or thereabouts. If the serial is above about 15C or 16C my money would be on it being a fake.
But try & get some pictures if you can, & with the scope off (showing as much detail of the pads & the area surrounding them as possible), & on. If the chance occurs to get pictures with the wood off, then also get some showing the chamber area of the barrel & the front face of the receiver & where the barrel screws into it - especially in the 6 o'clock position, so we can see if the chisel mark is there or not!
Hope this helps.

I'm with Roger. I've had quite a few legit Savage No.4T rifles. Some had British five groove barrels installed and some were still fitted with their original two groove barrels.
I had two ,one with a 5 groove the other one had the original 2 groove.
