1935 Oberndorf Brazilian Mauser

Happy to be registered. I was brought up on a farm in Alberta, Canada and learned the ins and outs of firearms at an early age. For the past few years a couple of friends and I, having joined our local fish & game protection association, have been making good use of their members shooting range for our enjoyment and to get to know other members.
My best friend passed on last month and willed me several firearms, one which I had searched this website and others for information on a superb and very well kept 1935 Oberndorf Brazilian Mauser, 7 x 57 mm given to him by his brother after he had cleaned it up from the shipping crate complete with it's grease. To my knowledge it has not been fired. The Mauser I had referred to on this site was the same vintage with a slightly newer Serial number I believe posted here in 2007. I would like to know if this rifle I now own is somewhat rarified because of passing time. I haven't been able to locate anything similar and if any members can enlighten me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

For the rifle - Generally Yes - however value will depend partly on condition and completeness.

Some of these particular rifles are available with the matching bayonet, sling and test target.

Thanks for the reply. This rifle I now have is identical to the Model 1935 Mauser4, with of course a different serial number (on all parts) which was referred to by Member Badger in his 01-11-2007 Post to this site and which I had picked up on in an earlier search about 2-3 years ago for my friend Walt. I could take similar photos of the one in my possession however such a task is currently unnecessary as the Badger one would do for reference if needed.

I'm not sure how anyone could commit to giving you a proper valuation on your rifle, based upon viewing a series of pics of a completely different rifle, even if it is the same year and genre.. :confused:

If you email me pics of your rifle to badger@milsurps.com, I'll post them in this thread for you so you can get accurate and complete information...
