Ultimate Addition to your L42A1 CES?

Those of you lucky enough to own an L42 with a complete CES might be interested in adding this item:

They're spot on, & I gather there was only a small batch made. I'm very fortunate & don't need one, but................!

It was never part of the CES per-se so don't think that your CES is deficient if you haven't got one. Not available outside of ITDU and certain '…… those specialists with an operational requirement for blah blah blah….' Same as the IIW mount for the L34 SMG and carried the same VAOS cat. prefix. They were a very light grey almost wishy-washy colour that didn't look like phosphate to me but I'm probably wrong there

I think I've mentioned it before but the S&B L13/6x 42 scope wasn't the first choice of telescope for the L96 rifle. That went to an American tele who's name I forget now. But they weren't prepared to alter certain features for a small (restricted quantity) order. As reliable, shockproof and MUCH cheaper too.

Why is this infernal machine changing all my spellings to the colonial spellings. When I get back I think I'll get a gunboat over here and take these colonials and antipodeans back in hand!!!!!!!!!

Yeah right I will get the beer on ice.

Peter, we still use most of the correct spellings in Canada. I spend most if my time undoing the misgivings of spell check.

Colour, Labour, Neighbour .... The list goes on.

Even the beer is better (stronger anyway) north of the 49th parallel. Keep us in mind for your next voyage.

And no offense to our cousins south of the border.

I've had to change some of my practices because of that very thing...spelling practices that is.

If you use Firefox you can accept the British--English spellchecker, not the US-ian one.

Thanks for that Gary…… it made me chuckle. Maybe I'll wait until our new super dooper aircraft carrier is finished. It's being called Prince of Wales but we haven't finalized or even got aircraft for it yet. The last Prince of Wales that set sail without aircraft is still 50 feet down in the S China Sea!
