I've had this scope tin for many, many years, & have owned another exactly the same, although I have no idea who the manufacturer's initials relate to. I've owned two, so I'm sure there must be a few more out there. Anyone any ideas? I have this 'feeling' that it might be Canadian.............but who knows??!!?? :confused:

Might well be Canadian Roger, in which case probably a company with initials "W.R."? The "C" being for Canada and the date June 1942?
The only company I can find that matches those initials and might have had the kind of stamping facilities required is an outfit called "W. Robinson & Son, Converters, Ltd., 51-53 Wellington St. W., Toronto, Ont." Manufacturers of "cotton bleachers, dryers and finishers". They were obviously quite a big outfit with three offices in Canada and others in the Caribbean and in Manchester.
That's after going through all the R's in the 1937 Canadian Trade Index.
If the initials were reversed so that "W" was the first letter of the last name, then I don't know!;)
