I have a silk escape map that I assume is from around 1942. Shows Germany, Poland, Hungary, Austria etc. The latest boundaries marked on the map are from 1941 and the map is black and white (Map is 9U). It came all creased and folded up. Lovely thing to have but please keep it out of the sunlight though. They fade fast otherwise - so I've been told!

It was just that, "special" and a great keepsake for each of them to mark their return and their sacrifice, which had they not done it in that heady period, the Malaysian Federation would have collapsed and today would have been under Communist rule, including Singapore.
Isn't worth thinking about really.
