Pricing question - Izhevsk 1944 M44, 1943 M38

I am looking at letting go 2 rifles I have had stored for a while, so that I can get back into my main focus of collecting (British and Finnish WW1 and WW2 firearms). I have a 1944 M44 and a 1943 M38, both made at Izhevsk, both bog-standard typical recent imports in the usual condition, both with pretty good bores that have been counterbored. The M38 is in an M44 stock. Serial numbers match, as least from the time of the refurbishment. I have no idea of their value to a buyer in the US at this time. My research on Gunbroker and other places was all over the place. Any idea of a reasonable price for either rifle?

Ballparkish - $250-$300 for the 44, $300-$350 for the 38.

Counter boring hurts both, 44 stock hurts the 38.

I say this just from seeing them at shows and a few online ads.

They are starting to ask $200-$220 for the 91/30's which I find hard to believe.

Thanks most kindly, those prices seem to match some of my research. The prices of the 91/30s are going up way faster than I thought they would, when you think how many have been imported in the last couple of years. I was at the Big Reno Show at the weekend and was looking for comparable M38s and M44s for a price check, but didn't see a single one - just my luck lol.

38's are really tough to find these days. I'm looking for one myself but would prefer a 38 stock. 44's are not much better, even the Type 53's are getting hard to find and prices on those on GB are approaching $200 in rough shape.

I've seen some of the 91/30 prices and scoffed at them, then later checked the auction sites and they seem to be getting it. While I doubt they will ever match the mausers, at the going rates, I've trippled my initial investment on most of them. When the dirt cheap ammo dries up, I can see the price dropping again. A lot of guys buy them for the "bang" factor at the range and when the ammo gets too expensive, there are a lot of nicer rifles out there.

The higher prices are only there because of the ban on imports from Russia.

Most of the imports were from the Ukraine, not Russia, I think they just dried up.

Thanks for the help. Have listed the rifles online, and am keeping my fingers crossed. I have my eye on a 1918 No.1 Mk.III* that has caught my eye, and hope it is still there when I have the funds.
