This stock was broken completely through the right rail. It had been repaired once before, but it did not line up. I started with removing all the previous glue and re-aligning the break. It needed to be clamped in two different directions at the same time. It should never break in the same spot again. Now it's ready to go back into service. :cheers:

Hi Bob, yes the break was right at a knot.:ugh: It could not take the stress. The funny thing was that some of the wood fibers at the defect tended to hang together, and some simply broke. I assume those holes were drilled to try and get the previous glue to run into the crack.:banghead: It didn't work and I used a different method.:thup: When it was done, I filled in the holes.:dancingbanana: The winter project is a 1961 CJ 6. I maybe calling on you and Bill H. for some technical advice. :sos:
