Put it on EBay at a lowish reserve YOU want, bearing in mind it has no sentimental value and sentiment don't sell in any case. It will sell at the price someone wants to pay. That's simple economics

Robert,
I would disgree with you, it does in fact have sentimental value, because it provides provenance to the buyer of the previous wearer and owner who gave service to his country whilst serving in a specific unit.
I would therefore tell some of the story of your wifes fathers service, and you might surprise yourself, that there will be a discerning collector or musuem out there that wants Military memoribila such as this garment, with the medal ribbons included to spell out where and when her father carried out his vital service in trouble spots around the globe!!
So in short, having provided some limited history which could be provided after sale to the winning bidder, I would start the bidding as Peter advised, and then sit back and watch the bids flow in. Place a reserve on it, which is obviouly hidden, and if it doesn't make what you seek, let his old unit museum have it for their stock.
ADDED: I see you have two threads going on the same subject, confused me anyway!!!
Good Luck.
