Shortened 1907 Wilkinson Bayonet
Picked this up today at a flea market. I'm assuming it is an Indian MK II bayonet because that's exactly what it looks like but what is missing is anything related to Indian or the conversion.
The grips are dark like most Indian bayonets I've seen. Marked Wilkinson 1907 with an 8 17 manufacture date. Has British acceptance marks and the Crown stamp. Scabbard is also marked on the very top flat portion one side with the acceptance arrow and a number I can't read, the other a very clear 25. Painted E.C.L. on one side of grip with a 55 painted on the pommel same side. Painted 55 on opposite grip. Black paint on all metal except the blade.
Safe to assume this one simply escaped the Indian markings or did some other nation use shortened 1907's?
