No. 36 Hand Grenade cutaway training aid

This example was discovered some years ago while doing some clean up tasks in some forgotten side attic of a drill hall. It was in an unlabeled wooden crate that contained more than a dozen of these cutaway bodies, there were no other components, and some of the bodies were in quite bad shape, missing the fuse well, or the plaster completely gone. The accounts were checked and since these were not on anyone's charge, the PL commander told anyone who wanted one to help themselves, and then directed that they be put back in the corner where we found them, for someone else to deal with.

For all I know the crate is still up there waiting for someone to rediscover it.

That old building had lots of little pieces of treasure, once while swamping out the clogged sump and pump I discovered the source of the problem, a heavily corroded .303 casing with a 1914 headstamp had been drawn into the unprotected intake. It made for a long cleanup process because the weapons vault was in the basement and the flooding had reached to just over the magazine wells of every one of the Platoon's weapons.

Beyond what you can see in the photos and my discovery story, I don't currently have any further information on this piece.
