nice but what about replacement parts
Looks like it's built on a basic Chevy trk. chassis, so I would think chevy parts.......................
Mechanically it appears all major driveline items are off the shelf parts from the period, some of the body parts would have to hand built if there were issues there, however if it were in Canada and I were looking for an entry level military vehicle I would definitely try to buy it. One of the major concerns that have kept me from expanding my automotive hobby to military vehicles has always been the knowledge of parts obsolescence and availability, and that has always been a budget buster. A military truck with 1970's GM parts should be very easy to keep running opposed to some of the other oddballs out there.
I pity the enthusiast that someday purchases one of the Canadian LSVW variants and tries to keep that heap running and not on fire.
The concentric bowl Holley carb (Model 885F?) is interesting. Probably would work better than a Rochester on steep inclines and side hills. Very similar to one I had on a flathead Merc engine when I was a kid. - Bob
