WW1 Belgian Minerva Armored Car

New at the http://www.klm-mra.be/ in Brussels. A beautifull reconstruction of a WW1 Minerva Armored Car. It was reconstructed by Belgian volunteers following http:www.fiva.org/site/en/ rules, it took 4 years and a €60.000 investment.

Not too keen on that big round aiming mark though. But it really is a work of the restorers art I have to agree.

Maybe they were lousy shots!

I seem to remember that in Malaya and SVN our Bedford and International lorries and Land Rovers had a white kangaroo on the doors (The RNZIR has a white Kiwi too). They looked a bit too much like aiming points too. Someone said that they were the exact width of an RPG foresight blade (never saw an RPG optical sight there.....) so later they were painted a dark red - and later painted out! Feel free to correct my failing memory Muffer!

I only remember the red kangaroo which the Yanks called it the 'big red rat'.

Not to different to the Rolls Royce armoured car, other than the spoked wheels and a covered turret

Agree that is a beautiful work. That insignia on the side is does make an awfully fabulous target. Gotta love the spare tire hung on the side--that would survive a fire fight really well, wouldn't it?

What does the large roundel on the side represent? And is that a pick-axe hanging down underneath the roundel?

It is indeed a pick-axe.

The Roundel should be a national insignia, but I'm not sure if it is Belgian or what.
